That was the response of Isaiah when the Lord asked who would go and do the work of ministry! That was also the response of 22 of our young people in our Sr. High youth group when asked, "who will go to rural North Carolina and endure sleeping in a tent, working in the heat of the day, walking everywhere we go", all for the purpose of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. We leave tomorrow at 7:00 am to make the drive and will then spend 5 days reaching out in the rural community of Andrews North Carolina. we could be painting, mowing grass, repairing fence, scooping dog poop, (It could happen!) or any other number of things. Most importantly, we will learning about serving others for the sake of Christ. We will be intentional about seeking opportunities to tell others about the hope of our salvation. We will do everything "as unto the Lord".
I have never seen a more willing group of servants. They have given up part of their summer, part of their allowance, and much of their comforts of home not so they can get a pat on the back but so that they can draw attention to Jesus, the Lord of their life. Will you pray for us this week? Please pray that God will use each one exactly where we are to represent Him and all He has done for us. Pray for our families who we will leave behind, some for the first time. Pray for our protection. Pray that God will allow us to impact others while we ourselves are being impacted by Him. Finally, pray that we would return changed from when we left.
Check the blog during the week as I will be trying to keep you updated each day provided I have Internet access. We love you and thank you for your prayers and support.
Waiting on Him,
ML
